Drugs Valued at Rs 3.05 Crore Seized From 2 Passengers at Hyderabad Airport

The seized substance was tested positive for Ganja/Marijuana through the Narcotic Drug Detection Kit.

Hyderabad:Acting on specific intelligence, DRI officers of Hyderabad zonal unit intercepted two Indian passengers arriving from Bangkok at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad and seized 8.705 kgs of high-grade cannabis (Hydroponic Ganja), valued at approximately Rs 3.05 crores in the illicit market. Both the passengers have been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985.

During systematic examination of their check-in baggage, 24 black coloured packets concealed inside insulated water bottles, a potato snack tin, and multiple food containers were recovered.

The seized substance was tested positive for Ganja/Marijuana through the Narcotic Drug Detection Kit. Further investigation to identify the source and network is in progress, sources in DRI said on Wednesday.
