20-Year-Old Engineering Student’s Organ Donation Saves 4 Lives in Telangana

According to a press release issued by Jeevandan Telangana, Pulipalupula Raghava, a resident of Alair in Nalgonda district and a B.Tech student at CJIT Engineering College, Janagam, met with an accident on May 16 while travelling on a two-wheeler.

Hyderabad:A 20-year-old engineering student from Nalgonda district gave a new lease of life to four patients through organ donation after being declared brain dead following a road accident.




 

According to a press release issued by Jeevandan Telangana, Pulipalupula Raghava, a resident of Alair in Nalgonda district and a B.Tech student at CJIT Engineering College, Janagam, met with an accident on May 16 while travelling on a two-wheeler.

Raghava reportedly hit a road divider near the Cheriyal Indian Oil petrol pump and suffered a severe head injury. Family members initially shifted him to a private hospital locally and later moved him to Hyderabad for advanced treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts, he was declared brain dead on May 18.

In a noble gesture, Raghava’s father, Pulipalupula Mahesh, consented to donate his son’s organs. The donated organs included two kidneys, one liver and lungs, helping save four patients in need of transplants.
