Doctors’ Body Clarifies Transfer Exemptions
Reports claiming nearly 600 doctors were seeking exemptions were inaccurate: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA)
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) clarified that representations seeking retention or exemption of office‑bearers in the ongoing transfer process are being submitted strictly in line with government orders and guidelines.
In a press note, the association said reports claiming nearly 600 doctors were seeking exemptions were inaccurate. Only about 186 office‑bearers currently fall under the long‑standing category across departments.
The distribution includes 88 doctors from the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), 65 from Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP) and 33 from the Directorate of Public Health (DPH). Of these, 63 are working within GHMC limits, while 123 are serving in districts outside Hyderabad.
TGGDA stated that exemption or retention eligibility would depend on fulfilment of the mandatory 40 per cent long‑standing criteria and other government‑prescribed conditions, indicating that the final number of eligible candidates would be much lower.
