Dirty Kitchen, Rotten Vegetables Found at Sweekar Hotel in Kacheguda
The officials found fungal-contaminated cabbage, citrus canker in lemons, and rotten tomatoes in addition to boiled potatoes used without proper cleaning and peeling
Hyderabad: The food safety department inspected Sweekar Hotel in Kacheguda crossroads and found serious food safety and hygiene violations.
The officials found fungal-contaminated cabbage, citrus canker in lemons, and rotten tomatoes in addition to boiled potatoes used without proper cleaning and peeling. Poor sanitation, housefly infestation, and unhygienic kitchen conditions were noticed apart from prepared food stored uncovered and un-labelled in refrigerators.
Raw vegetables were stored along with semi-prepared boiled noodles, posing a risk of cross- contamination. Absence of FoSTaC-trained personnel, non-maintenance of employee health, pest control, water analysis, and used cooking oil disposal records were found.
The officials seized new classic hakka noodles weighing 700 grams without batch number and nutritional information for violating FSS (Labelling and Display) Regulations. The officials initiated necessary action under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA)-2006.
They asked all Food Business Operators (FBOs) to strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene standards to protect public health.
