Ration Card e-KYC Mandatory by July 31; No Deadline Extension Yet

Hyderabad: Ration card holders in Telangana have been urged to complete their e-KYC verification by July 31, as the Civil Supplies Department has not announced any extension to the deadline.

Beginning in August, eligible beneficiaries will receive three months' ration in a single distribution, making e-KYC mandatory to continue availing benefits without interruption.

Telangana has 1,05,42,188 ration cards, covering 3,39,96,239 beneficiaries. Within the Greater Hyderabad limits, there are around 15.9 lakh ration cards. According to official reports, 75 per cent of beneficiaries have completed their e-KYC, while the remaining 25 per cent are yet to do so.

The Civil Supplies Department has instructed officials to achieve 100 per cent e-KYC completion by July 31. Special teams have been deployed after dividing areas into sectors and sub-sectors, with checking inspectors appointed as sector in-charges.

The department will also organise special camps with the support of local public representatives, resident welfare associations, voluntary organisations, Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers to help beneficiaries complete the e-KYC process before the deadline.
