Devotees Throng Temples Across Warangal Tricity For Naga Panchami
Temples and serpent shrines across Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet witnessed a rush of devotees as Naga Panchami was celebrated with special prayers and rituals.
The Tricity of Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet witnessed a surge in devotees on Monday as Naga Panchami was celebrated with religious fervour. From early morning, devotees visited temples and anthills associated with serpent deities, offering milk, turmeric, kumkum and flowers and performing special prayers.
The historic Thousand Pillar Temple in Hanamkonda witnessed a steady stream of devotees. Worshippers consider Naga Devata an embodiment of Nagendra, associated with Lord Shiva, and believe that offering prayers on Naga Panchami brings peace, health and prosperity to families, besides blessings for children.
Special abhishekams and rituals were performed at the Subramanyeswara Swamy Temple in Kazipet, along with several Shiva temples and Naga Devata shrines, including those around Public Garden. Large numbers of women participated in the celebrations, offering milk and prayers at serpent anthills.
Naga Panchami also highlights the ecological significance of snakes and their role in maintaining the balance of nature. The celebrations across the Tricity reflected a blend of devotion, tradition and respect for nature.
