Hyderabad:The drive by the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) against unauthorised under-construction buildings neared the 50 mark on Thursday, following the collapse of an illegal structure at Anjaiahnagar earlier this week. The corporation said that it had demolished nine buildings on August 24, followed by 17 on August 25. On Thursday, the corporation said had demolished 21 buildings, bringing the total to 47 buildings so far.

However, a visit to one of the sites at Nanakramguda showed that portions of the roof and concrete slabs were being removed using drilling equipment, leaving reinforcement bars exposed, while a significant part of the building remained intact.

It could not be established whether the entire structure at Nanakramguda had been ordered to be demolished or whether the remaining portion was considered safe or legally permissible.

When contacted earlier, the officer concerned said the matter would be inquired into on Friday and appropriate action would be taken. However, repeated attempts to seek a specific clarification on the partial demolition went unanswered.
