Hyderabad: The new building of the Telangana High Court at Rajendranagar and the new Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal will be inaugurated by December 2027, while works on 10 packages under the hybrid annuity model (HAM) road programme will be grounded this month.

Chairing a review meeting here on Friday, roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy instructed senior officials to expedite the work and ensure timely completion.

Venkat Reddy said the first phase of the HAM road programme envisaged construction of 6,092 km of roads at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 13,000 crore under 34 packages. Work on the 42-km Nalgonda-Mahbubnagar double road project under Package-2 has begun. Another 10 packages will be launched later this month. The minister directed officials to speed up execution and, after the monsoon, take up works in three shifts to meet deadlines.

The minister asked chief engineers to deploy experienced field engineers for each package and closely monitor quality. He also announced that foundation stones for HAM and Central Road Fund (CRF) road projects in Karimnagar district would be laid on July 6.

Reviewing work on the High Court complex and judges' quarters at Rajendranagar, Venkat Reddy directed officials to deploy additional manpower and strengthen supervision to meet the December 2027 deadline. He also reviewed the progress of work at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (Tims) hospitals at Sanathnagar, Alwal and LB Nagar, the expansion of the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, and the Warangal Multi Super Speciality Hospital, directing officials to accelerate the works.

Warning against delays, the minister said he would begin surprise inspections of project sites from this week and take action against negligent officials. He also reviewed temple development works at Basara and Bhadrachalam and preparations for the Godavari Pushkaralu and directed officials to complete all assigned works on schedule.
