Hyderabad: A local court directed eight persons booked by LB Nagar police in petty cases to clean an orphanage and distribute fruits to children as community service under the Swachh Bharat initiative.

Police booked two operators of midnight tiffin centres for violating regulations and six others for allegedly creating a public nuisance.

The eight accused were produced before the VI Metropolitan Magistrate Court at LB Nagar, which ordered them to undertake community service.

Following the order, they carried out a cleanliness drive at an orphan students’ home in Chitra Layout under the supervision of LB Nagar police and distributed fruits to the children.
