Court Grants Police Custody Of Trainee IPS Officer

An Upperpally court has granted two-day police custody of a trainee IPS officer accused of raping and assaulting a fellow woman trainee officer.

The Upperpally court has granted two‑day police custody of trainee IPS officer M. Uday Krishna, accused of rape and physical assault on a fellow woman trainee IPS officer.

The court issued orders allowing Krishna Reddy to be remanded in custody. The Women Safety Wing team along with Attapur police will take him into custody at 10.30 am on August 18 and produce him before the court at 4.30 pm on August 19.

Investigators, as per the court’s direction, will conduct a sperm test to match samples collected from the victim’s clothes and submit them as evidence during prosecution, police said. In their custody petition, investigators stated that earlier desired information was not obtained from Uday. He will remain in police custody until 4.30 pm on August 19.

The court also granted permission for Uday Krishna Reddy to undergo the sperm test. Meanwhile, the verdict on his bail petition is awaited.
