Congress Moves Court to Stall Khairatabad Bypoll, Alleges Aruna
She alleged that the two parties had damaged the state’s development and pushed it into a debt trap.
Hyderabad:BJP Mahbubnagar MP D.K. Aruna on Sunday alleged that the Congress, fearing defeat in the Khairatabad bypoll, had moved court to stall the election. She accused the Congress and BRS of encouraging defections and indulging in “cheap politics.” She pointed out that the Congress had strongly opposed defections while in Opposition but had “shamelessly” admitted BRS MLAs after coming to power.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office in Nampally, Aruna said defected MLAs were now unable to tell people which party they represented. “If the Congress is confident of winning again, why does it fear facing the people,” she asked.
Aruna challenged all defected MLAs to resign and contest the bypolls. She said those who had won on the BRS symbol and later wore the Congress scarf should resign and seek a fresh mandate. “If they have the courage, let them resign and win again,” she said. The BJP leader expressed confidence that her party would win the Khairatabad bypoll. She recalled that the BJP had earlier won the Assembly seat and said the party would repeat its victory.
Aruna claimed that people in Khairatabad were unhappy with both the Congress and the BRS. She alleged that the two parties had damaged the state’s development and pushed it into a debt trap.
She also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was providing substantial funds for Telangana’s development without discrimination, despite the Congress being in power in the state. The Congress and BRS were not different, she alleged, describing them as “two sides of the same coin” working with an understanding. She appealed to people to teach both parties a lesson in the coming Khairatabad bypoll.
