Congress Demands Action Against BJP Leadership; Challenges NRR Over His Statements
“Being a lawyer by profession, do you not know that submitting false information to government officials is a crime?” the committee chairman asked the BJP state president.
Hyderabad:In view of the row over submission of bulk Form-7 by BJP BLAs in various Assembly constituencies, the Congress strongly condemned it and demanded that the Hyderabad police commissioner initiate action against all the accused and also urged that a case be booked against BJP state president N. Ramachander Rao, if he was found to be involved in distribution of these pre-printed forms.
Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, PCC Election Commission Co-ordination Committee chairman Pulipati Rajesh Kumar, along with state SIR coordinator Gampa Venu Gopal and member of the committee Wajid Hussain challenged the statements of the BJP state president, in wake of the developments. They recalled how Ramchander Rao earlier strongly denied the role of the party in “disenfranchising” the genuine voters. “Ramchander kept on insisting that neither BJP leaders nor the BJP had any role in submission of these pre-filled Form-7s. Now that a case against one of the accused BLO is registered by police following our complaint to the CEO, the BJP stands exposed. The party state president is now shamelessly questioning as to what would be wrong if his partymen were caught in the act,” exclaimed Rajesh Kumar.
