Hyderabad: A Community Mediation Centre was inaugurated at the GHMC office in Domalguda on Wednesday under a joint initiative of the Telangana High Court, the Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) and GHMC.
The centre aims to resolve family, neighbourhood, property and other minor local disputes through dialogue and mutual understanding, reducing the need for litigation. The services of community mediators will be provided free of cost, with no fee or remuneration charged in cash or kind. The process is voluntary, with mediators maintaining confidentiality and ensuring settlements are reached without coercion or undue influence.
The initiative follows the training of 100 community mediators from diverse backgrounds, including retired officers from the Income-Tax department, ONGC, banks and other institutions, under the guidance of the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, the High Court Mediation Centre and TSLSA.
