Hyderabad: Addicted to cockfights, betting and gambling, a 27-year-old man turned to stealing 350 cc retro-style motorcycles to fund his expenses and lifestyle. The accused, Neelapu Harsha Sai Vardhan, native of West Godavari district, was arrested by Madhuranagar police and four stolen bikes were recovered from his possession.

Police said three motorcycles were stolen from the Madhuranagar police station limits over the past month, while another was stolen from Panjagutta.

Police apprehended the accused on Tuesday by following CCTV footage from the theft locations.

He was subsequently produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody. Police said he was involved in 12 previous cases, including 11 thefts.
