BRS Starts Prep For Graduate MLC Elections

HYDERABAD: The BRS has begun preparing for the upcoming elections to the Graduate MLC constituencies of Mahbubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad, and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda, with party working president K.T. Rama Rao holding a meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday.
In attendance at the meeting, the first of the party on preparations for the MLC elections, were BRS Assembly deputy floor leader T. Harish Rao, former ministers from the former constituency and party leasders.
Directing the party leaders to take the MLC elections seriously, Rama Rao said another meeting will be held soon with MLAs and former MLAs from the erstwhile districts where elections are scheduled. He also called on the party leaders to focus on voter enrollment for these elections
Meanwhile, BRS MLCs Dr Sravan Dasoju, and L Ramana, accompanied by former MLC Karne Prabhakar met the Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy and sought clarifications on schedule for preparing fresh electoral rolls for the MLC elections. The BRS leaders said that while the CEO had announced that the qualifying date for fresh electoral rolls was November 1, the deadline for Form-18 applications was November 6, but the final electoral roll under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision was due on November 9.
They sought a clarification from the CEO on whether applicants seeking to join the electoral rolls for the MLC polls, will be required to furnish EPIC or other electoral roll details while filing Form-18, as the deadline for this is before the publication of final SIR rolls.
