Bluecolt Constable Attacked With Knife In Thorrur
The injured constable Jatoth Ramachandra, with a stab injury below his left arm and other injuries, has been shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.
MAHABUBABAD: A Bluecolt constable attached to Thorrur police station has been seriously injured after a youth allegedly attacked him with a knife and iron rod when the cop intervened in a quarrel between a couple in Thorrur town in Mahabubabad district on Thursday night.
The injured constable Jatoth Ramachandra, with a stab injury below his left arm and other injuries, has been shifted to a hospital and is undergoing treatment.
According to police, a woman dialled 112 reporting a quarrel between a couple near the Gangothri Water Plant in Thorrur on Thursday night. Ramachandra, who had been on Bluecolt duty, reached the spot on his motorcycle at around 11:20 p.m.
While Ramachandra had been trying to collect details of the dispute, Koteshwar, a resident of East Thanda in Agapet village of Dantalapalli mandal who lives near the Gangothri Water Plant, allegedly attacked him with a knife. The constable sustained a stab injury below his left arm close to the heart. Koteshwar then hit the constable with an iron rod before escaping.
Ramachandra contacted a police patrol vehicle which shifted him to a hospital. Doctors used six stitches to shut his wound and put him under medical supervision.
Police have reportedly taken Koteshwar and are questioning him. Details are yet to be established.
