BJP Will Make ‘Bottu’ Mandatory in Schools: Bandi
Union minister says BJP will promote Hindu traditions in schools if voted to power.
Karimnagar: Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday said the BJP would make application of ‘bottu’ mandatory for Hindu students in schools if the party comes to power in Telangana.
Expressing confidence of forming the next government in the state, he said steps would be taken to promote Hindu culture and traditions in educational institutions.
In a statement condemning the reported incident at a private school in Saidabad, he termed it objectionable to ask Hindu students to read religious verses and questioned the response of organisations on the issue.
Describing the incident as an attack on Hindu culture, he called for condemnation and warned that such practices should not be allowed to spread.
He demanded action against the school management and sought cancellation of its recognition.
Referring to a separate incident involving an autorickshaw driver, he questioned action taken against him for displaying Hindu slogans and sought action against those responsible for alleged harassment, including political leaders and police personnel.
