BJP is with Displaced Persons of Musi Project: Ramchander Rao
Rao criticized that the public hearing conducted by the Congress government in the name of Musi rejuvenation has become a farce
Hyderabad: Reiterating that BJP is not against beautification and purification of Musi river, BJP state president N Ramchander Rao today warned the party would not tolerate demolishing houses without providing rehabilitation for displaced persons.
Addressing a press conference at state party office here he clarified that the BJP is not against the purification of the Musi River, but demolishing the homes of the poor and rendering farmers and citizens homeless in the name of beautification and purification is wrong. He asserted that scientific purification work can be undertaken without demolishing houses.
BJP state chief criticized that the public hearing conducted by the Congress government in the name of Musi rejuvenation has become a farce. He questioned how a public hearing could be conducted without inviting the victims and displaced persons who would be severely affected by the project.
He pointed out that many ex-servicemen reside in the Madhu Park area within the Gandhi Sarovar project limits and it is appalling that actual victims were not permitted into the meeting organized by Musi Riverfront Corporation officials near Himayatsagar on October 28.
Rao alleged that the previous BRS government allocated an estimated cost of Rs.750 crore for the Musi Corporation and eventually doled out just Rs.3 crore, while the current Congress government is projecting estimates in thousands of crores without showing a clear Detailed Project Report (DPR) or budget allocations.
He warned that the BJP will not sit quietly if the government, which claims it lacks funds to pay government employees' DAs, PRC, pensions, and farmers, goes ahead and demolishes houses without providing any compensation or proper rehabilitation to the victims.
He emphasized that the government must directly conduct a Praja Darbar with the victims and resolve their issues before moving forward, and assured that the BJP will stand by the displaced.
Terming “ Mock Parliament” which postponed for tomorrow by Congress and its INDI alliance, Rao alleged that Congress is making mockery of democratic system and playing dramas in the name of mock parliament. He questioned Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders for organizing such event who had called the mock parliament organized by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav in 2010 a “Mockery of Democracy”. Sonia Gandhi should answer this today, he asked.
Rao criticized that the Congress-led INDIA Alliance has made it its business to insult constitutional institutions and is mocking Parliament, the temple of democracy, in the name of a Mock Parliament.
He noted that while organizing mock assemblies and parliaments in educational institutions to foster future leadership qualities among students and youth is a tradition, the Congress party is playing such dramas solely to subvert institutions.
He strongly criticized Congress's history of holding kangaroo-court-style inquiries by petitioning retired judges while ridiculing the Supreme Court in the past.
He recalled that in 2010, when Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav conducted a mock parliament inside Parliament for a pay hike, then-Speaker Meira Kumar expressed deep anguish and warned that Parliament is a sacred temple of democracy, and Sonia Gandhi herself strongly condemned it as a "Mockery of Democracy."
He questioned how Congress leaders, who spoke in such a manner, can organize similar mock parliaments today. He stated that the public is observing the double standards and false propaganda of Congress leaders.
Rao announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is visiting Hyderabad on November 2 to participate in "Maha Padayatra" organised from the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue opposite Nizam College in Bashheerbagh at 3 PM up to Mozamjahi Market crossroads where he will address the gathering.
Thousands of people, party cadres, lawyers, doctors, intellectuals, and experts from various fields will participate in this padayatra. The maha padyatra was organized to counter false propaganda of Congress party on SIR .
He strongly condemned the false propaganda spread by Congress regarding the SIR process. He recalled that Satish Jarkiholi, a Minister in the neighboring Karnataka Congress government, openly declared yesterday that the SIR process in their state was conducted with utmost transparency and as per regulations.
He remarked that it is laughable for Congress leaders here to spread false propaganda when their own minister is supporting the process.
He stated that if there are objections regarding deletions and additions in the electoral rolls, there is an opportunity to review them before the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs); Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties have a statutory responsibility to inspect ground-level votes and raise claims and objections through Form-7, and politicizing this is unwarranted.
On the results of MLC seats elections in other states, BJP state chief said 0ut of a total of 23 MLC seats, the BJP has won as many as 16, proving that the BJP has the upper hand even on ballot papers. He challenged Rahul Gandhi and Revanth Reddy, who vent their frustration on EVMs, to first resign from their positions won through EVMs before speaking.
Rao strongly dismissed Congress criticism that South Central Railway (SCR) did not allocate special trains for the INDIA Alliance proposed rally on November 1. He reminded that according to railway department regulations, the booking process for special trains must take place months in advance with payment of prescribed fees for advance booking.
He noted that keeping passenger rush in mind from Dasara and Diwali up to Chhat Puja in North India SCR is already running nearly 1,000 special trains. He questioned how trains could be arranged overnight by approaching at the last minute in violation of rules.
He asserted that Congress acts with the sole objective of defaming central government institutions, and blaming the railway department for their own failures in not following rules is an unforgivable act.
