BJP Hails Modi Rally as Telangana Turning Point
He criticised the party for neglecting temples and attacked its stance on the Election Commission’s voter list revision process.
Hyderabad:BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao has described Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting at Secunderabad Parade Ground on Sunday as proof of the party’s rising popularity in Telangana, even outside election season. He said political change in the state was “inevitable” with the BJP emerging as a strong alternative under Modi’s leadership.
At a press conference, Rao alleged that the Congress had failed to honour its promised ‘Guarantees’ and accused it of promoting communal politics “like the Muslim League.” He criticised the party for neglecting temples and attacked its stance on the Election Commission’s voter list revision process.
Rao thanked the people, party workers and media for the massive turnout, calling the gathering a “sea of humanity” that included Swamijis, Banjara and Lambadi women, doctors, nurses, lawyers, youth and women from all sections. He said Modi’s vision would bring jobs, development and economic progress, contrasting it with what he termed the Congress government’s “anti‑people, anti‑women, anti‑youth policies.”
The BJP chief spokesperson dismissed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s claim that Gujarat’s growth was due to the Congress‑led UPA as “ludicrous and meaningless,” stressing that Gujarat rose as a model state because of Modi’s leadership, transparent governance and industrial focus.
He accused the Congress government in Telangana of economic chaos, unmet guarantees, mounting debts and political theatrics. He rejected suggestions that Modi’s call to the CM to “work with us” was sarcasm, saying states that cooperate with the Centre progress faster.
The spokesperson warned Revanth Reddy against misuse of Modi’s development‑oriented image for personal political branding, insisting that Telangana could become a true growth engine only with disciplined, transparent and efficient administration—not with slogans like a “Telangana model” lacking a roadmap.
