Hanamkonda: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday said the Centre was committed to the welfare of tribal communities and had taken measures to curb Left-Wing Extremism across the country.

Addressing an interaction with tribal representatives in Warangal, he said extremist activity had declined in states such as Telangana, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, enabling development in affected regions.

He said efforts were being made to ensure that benefits of Central welfare schemes reach tribal communities at the grassroots level and in remote areas.

During his visit, he interacted with representatives of Lambada, Koya, Gond and Chenchu communities and heard concerns related to education, healthcare, employment and socio-economic development.

Nabin, who is on a three-day visit to Telangana, also reviewed party organisational activities ahead of local body elections.

Addressing party functionaries, he stressed the importance of strengthening booth-level organisation and maintaining contact with the public.

He said party workers should promote awareness of welfare schemes and development initiatives of the Central government.

He also called for expansion of the party base by involving youth, women, tribal communities and backward sections.

Party leaders expressed confidence of improving performance in the upcoming Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation elections.
