Bird Watchers Spot 70 Species at Zoo Walk

Hyderabad:Around 50 bird watchers from Hyderabad Birding Pals spotted nearly 70 species during a bird walk organised at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad. The sightings included kingfishers, owls, drongos, babblers, grey hornbills, moorhens, munias, koels, painted storks, ibises, egrets, bee-eaters, stilts, lapwings and others.
Deputy curator J. Muralidhar briefed participants on the zoo’s birdlife. The programme aimed to promote awareness about bird conservation and the importance of preserving natural habitats.
Bird watchers appreciated the zoo’s efforts in creating a conducive environment for avian species. The event was part of the zoo’s ongoing conservation initiatives.
