Bandi Describes Congress, BRS Leaders as Drama Artists
Union minister terms Congress and BRS as the “head and tail of the coin of corruption.”
KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home Bandi Sanjay Kumar described Congress and BRS leaders as “drama artists” and asked why the two parties failed in dealing with corruption effectively.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Sanjay Kumar questioned why the state government has not taken action against BRS leaders it accuses of being involved in corruption. “Are all BRS leaders honest or not involved in a single case of corruption? Why is the state government not arresting and putting in jail BRS leaders involved in corruption,” he asked. At the same time, the Union minister questioned why the BRS is not grilling the state government in the assembly on issues of corruption involving the Congress leaders. He termed Congress and BRS as the “head and tail of the coin of corruption.” He alleged that both the parties are wasting the assembly’s time, instead of taking up people’s issues.
Sanjay Kumar said the Lok Sabha Speaker had not suspended Rahul Gandhi and other Congress MPs though they had attended Parliament wearing black T-shirts. But the Congress did not follow the same rule during the protests by opposition in the Telangana assembly. He alleged that the Congress government is unable to run the states. He cited Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s request for support from the Union government as an example.
The Union minister said a similar situation is prevailing in Telangana. He alleged that the state government is running Telangana by selling the state’s lands. He feared that Telangana could turn like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan if the same situation continued.
Asked about the Konda Surekha episode, Sanjay Kumar declined to comment, saying it is an internal matter of the Congress.
