Three arrested near Apparel Park; gang involved in 19–21 theft cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: The Pet-Basheerabad police have busted an organised gang involved in a series of motorcycle thefts, arresting three accused and recovering 21 stolen two-wheelers on Monday.
The arrested have been identified as Bouri Ashok Singh (19), Ayalpuram Raghupathi alias Raghu (22), and Bandi Praneeth alias Sonu (23). Two other accused Chaitanya alias Sunny and Suresh are absconding, while two conflict-with-law minors were also linked to the case.
The accused were apprehended near Apparel Park in Maisammaguda following a focused operation by special police teams. They were later produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
According to police, the gang operated in an organised manner, targeting parked motorcycles across Telangana and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. They would travel in a car to selected locations, steal vehicles using master keys and tools, and quickly move out to avoid detection.
Investigations revealed that the gang was involved in at least 19 cases, with links to up to 21 motorcycle thefts. Police seized 21 motorcycles, a car, three mobile phones, and tools used in the crimes, including screwdrivers, cutters, electrical switches, and master keys.
Officials said the breakthrough was achieved using CCTV footage analysis and local intelligence inputs, which helped track and apprehend the accused.
