Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday urged the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to reconsider the state government’s plan to shift the Gudimalkapur vegetable and flower market to Aziznagar in the Rangareddy district. He noted that the livelihoods of 10,000 families would be affected if the decision was implemented, and likened it to earlier decisions to shift government offices from the southern and western parts of the city to other localities, without taking into consideration the opinions of stakeholders.

While tagging the official handles of the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on X, the AIMIM president urged them to immediately stop the proposed shifting of the Gudimalkapur vegetable and flower market to Aziz Nagar in the Rangareddy District.

“This market caters to people of southern and west Hyderabad district; it will affect the livelihood of nearly 10,000 families. The chairman of the Market Committee, for no reason, wants to shift it. This proposed shifting is against the rules of the Market Act 1966. This market was shifted from Sabzi Mandi Karwan in 1991 to Gudimalkapur in Hyderabad district. In the last two years, many government offices have been shifted from south and West Hyderabad; this in itself is unjust and sends a wrong message,” he added.
