Hyderabad: In the wake of the Telangana High Court’s directions on Fatima College, AIMIM Assembly floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Sunday asserted that his party had faced threats in the past but would not yield to them.
Addressing an event at the Fatima Owaisi KG to PG College at Chandrayangutta, Akbaruddin Owaisi strongly defended the college and its educational initiatives and asserted that no action taken against the institution would weaken his commitment to education.
Declaring that if one institution was demolished, he would build 10 more, Akbaruddin Owaisi said his mission of providing free education, supporting orphans, empowering women, and offering free NEET coaching would continue regardless of any obstacles.
The Telangana High Court is hearing a public interest litigation against the alleged illegal constructions belonging to the educational institution within the full tank level (FTL) and buffer zone of Salkam Cheruvu at Bandlaguda. The court on Friday had expressed strong displeasure over the government’s continued failure to comply with its earlier directions.
The MIM leader accused critics of trying to deprive Muslims of education and said his efforts are aimed at replacing ignorance with knowledge. Reaffirming that he would neither bow to pressure nor abandon his work, Owaisi vowed to continue expanding educational opportunities for future generations.
