Hyderabad: Director-General of Police DGP C V Anand interacted with 112 probationary DSPs undergoing training at RBVRR Telangana Police Academy and addressed them on the importance of leadership in policing.

He said that true leadership is not defined by titles or authority, but by courage, vision, integrity, teamwork, effective communication, hard work, innovation and, above all, humility. He stressed that maintaining the highest ethical standards and safeguarding one’s reputation are essential throughout a long career in public service.

Following their one-year training at the Academy, the probationary DSPs will proceed to the districts for a further 11 months of training before completing their training period.

Later, the DGP presented prizes to the winners of Cluster-C of the 5th Telangana Police Sports and Games Meet-2026. Over 700 police personnel took part in badminton, lawn tennis and table tennis.

He noted that the introduction of the cluster system, aligned with the All India Police Sports and Games calendar, would provide a structured platform to identify sporting talent, allow adequate time for training and practice, and offer greater competitive exposure, enable Telanagana Police sportspersons perform well at higher-level competitions.
