Adivasi Sangham demands Rs 500- cr allocation
Hyderabad:The Telangana Adivasi Sangham is seeking the immediate implementation of the promises made to them by the state. On Wednesday, representatives of the organisation met Prajavani nodal officer Divya Devarajan and requested the establishment of a corporation for the tribals with an allocation of Rs 500 crore.
Bhadrachalam former MP Midiyam Babu Rao sought a land site and Rs 10 lak to every tribal family without a house. He also called for the reinstatement of assigned land belonging to the tribals. “While acquiring lands, the 2013 land acquisition act should be invoked, and compensation should be provided in the same manner as for privately owned land. The forest rights act should be implemented strictly,” he said.
The organisation’s state secretary, Poonam Sachin, said, “The government should allocate Rs 25 lakh to every tribal gram panchayat. Tribal families should get Rs 12 lakh under the Ambedkar Abhaya Hastham. Funds should be allocated based on population. Super speciality hospitals should be established under all ITDAs. Tribal students who pass intermediate, graduation, and post-graduation should be given Rs 15,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs one lakh respectively, as support.”
Those completing MPhil, PhD should be given Rs 5 lakh. A gurukul should be established in every mandal. The fee reimbursement scheme should be reintroduced, and hostel facilities should be provided for tribal students doing post-graduation, he said.
The meeting was attended by Telangana Rythu Sangham’s joint secretary, Mood Shoban; state vice president of Adivasi Sangham, Bandaru Ravi Kumar; and other members.
