Adilabad SP Warns Rowdy-Sheeters Against Criminal Activities
The SP interacted with rowdy sheeters and suspected sheeters and advised them to lead a lawful life with their families
ADILABAD: Superintendent of police Akhil Mahajan on Saturday warned rowdy sheeters and suspected offenders in Adilabad to desist from criminal activities, stating that preventive action would be taken against repeat offenders.
At a meeting held at the district police headquarters, the SP interacted with rowdy sheeters and suspected sheeters and advised them to lead a lawful life with their families.
He said police were maintaining close surveillance on their movements and would conduct weekly reviews. He warned that involvement in activities such as matka, ganja trade, other criminal offences and land-related crimes would invite action under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act.
The SP said around 1,300 rowdy and suspect cases had been booked till last year, of which about 500 were revoked after individuals reformed and returned to normal life.
He added that 300 more individuals would be added to the surveillance list.
Adilabad DSP Jeevan Reddy, trainee IPS officer Rahula Kanth, AR DSP Kamatham Indravardhan, circle inspectors Suneel Kumar, K. Nagaraju, K. Phaninder and Karra Swamy, and Sub-Inspectors Vishnu Vardhan and Ashok were present.
