4 Killed, One Injured in Bus-Car Collision in Nalgonda

Four people were killed and one person sustained critical injuries after a private bus rammed into a car on the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway near Peddakaparthi village in Chityal mandal of Nalgonda district early on Sunday.

According to police, five people were travelling from Chennai to Hyderabad when the Odisha-based Arshiya Travels bus hit their car from behind. The impact crushed the car, killing four occupants on the spot.

The injured driver, identified as V.V. Prasad, was shifted to Kamineni Hospital in Narketpally for treatment.

Police said the deceased include Prasad's wife, son, daughter and a friend. The victims were natives of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh and were residing in Hyderabad, based on identity documents recovered from the scene.

A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway. Traffic on the national highway was briefly affected before being restored by police and NHAI personnel.
