Hyderabad: A jawan working in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) died after the van he were travelling in was hit by a speeding sand loaded lorry on the main road between Pasra and Tadvai forest check post in Mulugu district on Thursday, it is learnt.

After hitting the van, the lorry rammed into a car in which two revenue department employees was travelling. The employees suffered serious injuries in the incident.

According to initial reports, the accident could have occurred because of over-speeding and rash driving. The lorry driver fled the scene after the accident. The police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to nearby hospital.

The police booked a case under relevant provisions of BNS and launched a hunt to nab the lorry driver.
