16 Telangana Officers Inducted Into IAS Cadre

Centre clears promotions under IAS Cadre Rules after state consultation

Hyderabad: In a significant administrative development, 16 officers from Telangana have been inducted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) following approval by the Government of India.

According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India, New Delhi, on January 21, the officers have been appointed to the IAS (Telangana cadre) under Rule 5(1) of the IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954, after consultation with the state government. The officers will be on probation in accordance with IAS rules.

From the Select List of 2022, prepared against vacancies that arose between January 1 and December 31, 2022, the following officers were promoted to the IAS in the order of seniority: D. Madhusudan Naik, M. Satyavani, J. Bhavani Shankar, G. Lingya Naik, A. Narsimha Reddy, G. Veera Reddy, G.V. Shyam Prasad Lal and U. Raghuram Sharma.

The remaining officers were selected from the Select Lists of 2023 and 2024, taking the total number of promotions to the IAS cadre this year to 16.

The DoPT order has been forwarded to the Chief Secretary, Government of Telangana, for onward communication to the officers concerned and for fixation of seniority and year of allotment in accordance with the IAS (Regulation of Seniority) Rules.
