12 Aspirants in Teachers’ MLC Election Are Crorepatis

Wealthy Candidates Take the Lead as Top Contenders.

Nalgonda: In the recent nomination filing for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ MLC elections, 23 candidates have stepped forward, with 12 of them declaring assets exceeding Rs 1 crore.

Independent candidate Komatireddy Gopal Reddy leads the pack as the richest contender, owning properties worth Rs 17.3 crore, though he carries liabilities of Rs 3.27 crore. Reddy, a renowned educationist, also owns multi-branch educational institutes.

Close on his heels is S. Sunder Raju, whose family assets are valued at Rs 16.44 crore. Notably, despite his substantial wealth, Raju’s only registered asset is a single motorcycle, and he faces liabilities of Rs 2.3 crore.

Independent candidate Alugubelli Narsi Reddy ranks as the third wealthiest, with declared properties worth Rs 5.05 crore against minimal liabilities of Rs 2.99 lakh. With support from TSUTF, Narsi Reddy, a former Teachers’ MLC and veteran in the teaching profession, is banking on his experience.

Other prominent declarations include Dr Kolipaka Venkata Swamy, another independent candidate, who owns properties worth Rs 3.02 crore while shouldering liabilities of Rs 1.5 crore. Meanwhile, independent candidate Prof. Thatikonda Venkata Rajaiah reports total assets of Rs 3.06 crore with no liabilities to his name.

Representing PRTU (TS), Pingali Sripal Reddy, along with his wife, has declared assets totalling Rs 2.29 crore and liabilities of Rs 1.36 crore. Reddy’s candidature is backed by his extensive background in teaching.

BJP’s Puli Sarotham Reddy, a teacher turned advocate, has registered assets worth Rs 1.32 crore with liabilities of Rs 21.8 lakh. Similarly, former Teachers’ MLC Poola Ravinder, running as an independent candidate, declared properties worth Rs 1.28 crore and, interestingly, has a motorcycle registered in his name.

Prajavani Party candidate Lingidi Venkateshwarlu disclosed assets amounting to Rs 1.88 crore and liabilities of Rs 28 lakh. Additionally, independent candidate Kante Sayanna and his family have reported total assets of Rs 3 crore, while retired government junior college principal Banka Raju, also running as an independent, declared assets of Rs 1.1 crore.
