10 Held For Kidnapping Ex-Sarpanch In Khammam

Nalgonda: Mudigonda police in Khammam district on Thursday arrested 10 persons for the alleged kidnapping of former sarpanch Pamu Silvaraju of Pandregupalli village.
The arrested were identified as Mustafa, 40, Shaik Fakruddin, 67, Shaik Qasim Saheb, 41, Syed Mohammed, 44, Dangi Mayirban Singh, 28, Dangi Silikar Kuljeet Singh, 23, Silikar Azad Singh, 21, Syed Ismail, 37, Rokkam Komala, 38, and Varikuppala Tarun, 26.
Addressing a press conference, inspector of police Murali said Silvaraju was abducted in the early hours of March 25 while on a morning walk towards Khanapuram. Based on a complaint lodged by his wife, police registered a case and began investigation.
She had expressed suspicion against Shaik Fakruddin and his sons, citing prior enmity over a land dispute. Police traced the suspects to Hyderabad and rescued Silvaraju. All the accused were subsequently arrested. During interrogation, Fakruddin allegedly confessed to hiring an eight-member supari gang and paying Rs 15 lakh to abduct and kill Silvaraju, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
