3 Inter Students Die in Highway Crash
The victims, identified as Madasu Amarnath, 17, Padala Rishwanth, 17, and Kola Mayank, 16, died on the spot after a truck collided with their motorcycle.
Karimnagar: Three Intermediate students were killed and nine others injured in a road accident on a national highway at Dharmapuri in Jagtial district on Wednesday night, police said.
The victims, identified as Madasu Amarnath, 17, Padala Rishwanth, 17, and Kola Mayank, 16, died on the spot after a truck collided with their motorcycle.
According to police, the truck, coming from Mancherial district, lost control while attempting to overtake another vehicle and crashed into the oncoming bike. The impact led to the deaths of the three students.
The truck then rammed into an autorickshaw carrying devotees from Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, causing it to overturn. Nine passengers sustained injuries and were shifted to a government hospital in 108 ambulances. Police registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigation indicated that overspeeding and negligent overtaking by the truck driver led to the accident.
2 brothers killed, 5 hurt in Hanamkonda crash
Warangal: Two brothers were killed and five others injured when a car rammed into a tree near Mupparam in Dharmasagar mandal of Hanamkonda district late on Wednesday night, police said.
The deceased were identified as Enugula Lokesh, 24, and Enugula Ashok, 22, residents of Narsapur village in Jangaon district.
According to police, the seven occupants had hired a car to celebrate a friend’s recent wedding and were returning home after visiting temples and attending a gathering in Mupparam. The vehicle lost control at a curve on the Mupparam-Devanuru stretch and crashed into a roadside tree.
Lokesh and Ashok died on the spot due to the impact. The five injured were shifted to MGM Hospital in Warangal by locals and police.
Police registered a case and said investigations are under way to ascertain whether overspeeding led to the accident.
