With Empty Pots, Villagers Demand Drinking Water in Ramanathapuram

Rameswaram: The villagers of Yadav Kudiyirupu village near Kadaladi in Ramanathapuram district on Saturday protested with empty pots, demanding drinking water.
They are now buying water from a private person for Rs 15 per pot.
The villagers, including women, are angry that despite multiple petitions to the MLA, district collector, the block development officer and other officials for the past five years, there has been no action on the Cauvery and Karur joint drinking water project. Hence, they protested in front of the overhead water storage tank.
