Tamil Nadu: Rs. 7.39 Lakh Seized By Election Squad At Maduranthagam

CHENNAI: A flying squad formed by the Election Commission of India have seized Rs. 7.39 lakh which did not have valid documents.
The seizure was made at Araipakkam on the Thirukazhukundram-Maduranthagam road on Monday night when the flying squad officials searched a car.
The officials also searched the vehicle of former minister E.V. Velu at Acharapakkam on Tuesday but no seizure was made.
A total of 12 election squads were formed to check vehicles carrying money and gifts.
So far, no complaints of payment of cash or gifts by the political parties had been received.
