Onions Arrive From Nashik to Ease Shortage in TN

Chennai:A total of 840 tonnes of onions, transported from Nashik in 21 freight wagons from the Central Warehousing Corporation, arrived at the railway yard in Tondiarpet, near Chennai, Monday.
The freight train, which departed from Nashik on August 29, reached the Korukkupet railway yard in Chennai.
Priced at ₹35 per kg, the consignment is meant for use by the Tamil Nadu government.
According to Koyambedu traders, there is a shortage of onions.
They said the public is affected by the price and supply of onions, an essential item for daily cooking.
They urged the government to intervene immediately to address the shortage and take measures to bring prices under control.
