IIT-Madras, IIT-Kanpur Launch Bachelor’s Programme in Cybersecurity

Four-year course aims to meet rising demand for skilled cyber professionals

The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras and the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur have jointly launched a four-year Bachelor of Cybersecurity (B.Cyber) programme, starting from the upcoming academic year.

The programme is designed to address the growing need for cybersecurity professionals and to strengthen India’s digital infrastructure and cyber defence capabilities.

Admissions are being conducted jointly, with the curriculum combining theoretical knowledge and practical training. It will prepare students for careers in cyber defence, security operations, penetration testing, digital forensics, malware analysis, and cloud security.

The course also provides a foundation for higher studies and research in cybersecurity and related fields.
