Hindujas Discuss Stepping Up Renewable Energy Investments in TN with CM in London
The group reiterated its commitment to continuing investments and expanding its business operations in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: The Hindujа Group has expressed interest in increasing its investments in Tamil Nadu’s renewable energy sector, particularly wind power, besides expanding its existing business operations in the state, during a meeting with Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay in London on Monday.
Ashok Leyland executive chairman Dheeraj Hinduja, Finolex Industries Ltd executive chairman Prakash P. Chhabria and director Rita Hinduja Chhabria met the Chief Minister Monday.
During the meeting, Dheeraj Hinduja briefed Vijay on the progress of investments by the Hindujа Group in Tamil Nadu and the steps being taken based on the Rs. 2,500-crore MoU signed at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors’ Meet in August 2026.
The group reiterated its commitment to continuing investments and expanding its business operations in Tamil Nadu, while expressing interest in stepping up investments in renewable energy, particularly the wind energy sector, according to the state government.
The discussions also focused on increasing exports of commercial vehicles manufactured in Tamil Nadu and measures to strengthen the state’s position as an export hub for the automobile manufacturing sector.
The meeting assumes significance for Tamil Nadu’s automobile sector, which has emerged as a major manufacturing and export base, with the government seeking to expand its role in global value chains and increase exports from the state.
Indian Ambassador to the UK, K. Periyasamy, Nidhi Mani Tripathi, minister (economic), High Commission of India, London, and senior Tamil Nadu government officials were present during the meeting.
