10-Year RI for Man Who Peddled 52 kg Ganja
The NDPS judge in Madurai found the accused guilty under and delivered the judgement on Wednesday sentencing him to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1 lakh.
Chennai: A man who peddled 52 kilograms of ganja was given 10-year imprisonment by the Madurai NDPS court more than a decade after the seizure in 2015.
On October 14, 2015, a special team of the Narcotics Intelligence Bureau CID Unit (NIB-CID) conducted an intensive search operation near the Vadamadurai Junction on the Dindigul–Trichy Highway, a press release from the DGP office here said.
The raid resulted in the interception of a massive commercial consignment of 52 kilograms of ganja meant for illegal distribution, leading to the immediate arrest of the prime accused, Samantha Prabhu (42) belonging to Cumbum.
