CM Satheesan Praises Cong MLA Who Allows Predecessor to Inaugurate Completed Project
Terming it the "real Keralam Story", Satheesan said that it was an example of development rising above political credit
Thiruvananthapuram: Keralam Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Sunday praised Congress MLA from Poonjar M J Sebastian for allowing his predecessor to inaugurate a completed project in the constituency, as it was developed through his funds. Terming it the "real Keralam Story", Satheesan said that it was an example of development rising above political credit.
"This is the real Keralam Story. When development rises above political credit, when an MLA willingly steps aside so that the person who actually funded the project can inaugurate it - that is political maturity of the highest order.
"Heartfelt appreciation to INC Poonjar MLA M J Sebastian for this graceful and principled gesture. Development over ego. People over politics. We are reimagining politics. A new era for Keralam has begun," the CM said in his X post.
He also shared a video of the inauguration along with his post.
The video shows M J Sebastian inviting the former MLA Sebastian Kulathunkal, a Kerala Congress(M) leader, to inaugurate the completed project, a bridge.
Sebastian, in his speech, said the bridge would not have been possible if Kulathunkal had not sanctioned the funds for it.
