Special Intensive Revision To Update Electoral Rolls Begins Tomorrow In Karnataka

Karnataka presently has 5, 54, 32, 314 voters as on June 16 including voters who have recently become eligible to vote may apply for inclusion in Electoral Rolls by submitting Form 6 along with prescribed declaration form, as per the instructions of ECI.

BENGALURU: A month-long house-to-house/online Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls will begin in Karnataka on Tuesday by Chief Electoral Officer on the direction of Election Commission of India which is a participative, transparent and citizen centric aim that eligible voters are included in the Electoral Rolls. Besides, the exercise aims to make Electoral Rolls remain accurate, complete and updated. Facility for filling-up of Enumeration Forms will be available on https:/ / voters.eci.gov.in and ECINET mobile application.

Under the SIR, Enumeration forms will be given to voters by District Election Officers through respective Electoral Registration Officers and Booth-Level Officers for field-level implementation. The completed Enumeration Forms will be digitized within the prescribed timeline and all activities related to the house-to-house enumeration will be completed by July 29.

During the house-to-house enumeration, a press release from office of Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka on Monday stated two types of colour stickers will be pasted on households. A violet colour square shape sticker will indicate that the Enumeration Form has been distributed to the household while a red colour round shape stick will indicate that a particular household was locked or closed at the time of BLO’s visit.

A BLO will make at least three visits to households wherever necessary for collection of duly filled Enumeration Forms. After electors complete and sign the Enumeration Forms, BLO’s collect the filled up Forms for further processing and digitization.

A total of 59, 050 Booth Level Officers have been trained and deployed across the State and as many as 1, 15, 112 Booth Level Agents have also been trained by District Election Officers.
