Kollur: Two Kerala Tourists Die, Eight Injured In Road Accident

UDUPI: Two people died, and eight others, including three children, were injured in a head-on collision between a tourist jeep and a fish transport insulated vehicle near Dali village on the Kollur–Kodachadri route in Byndoor taluk of Udupi district on Sunday afternoon.
All the passengers in the jeep were from Kottayam in Kerala.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred between 1 pm and 2 pm while the tourists were returning from Kodachadri to Kollur. The tourists, all hailing from Kottayam had arrived in Kollur and after having darshan hired a local jeep to travel to Kodachadri.
The deceased have been identified as Jyothi, and Ariya Anoop. The injured include Arjun (9), Jyotish(43), Mini (60), Ayan (5), Avani (8), Aby(36), Anoop(37), and jeep driver Devaraj.
Police sources said the tempo driver fled the scene after the accident. A case has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
