Karnataka: Sanitation Worker Arrives in Fortuner, Inspires Many With His Dedication
Recalling difficult times, Sheshanna said there was a period when he did not even have enough money to perform his father’s last rites. Despite his improved financial situation, he continues to perform his sanitation duties.
A video of a sanitation worker from Bantwal in Karnataka, has gone viral on social media after he was seen arriving for work in a Fortuner. Despite owning an expensive car, Sheshanna continues to work as a sanitation worker with dedication.
According to reports, he arrives at work at around 5 a.m., performs his duties until the afternoon and then returns home. Besides his job, he also runs a business and has other sources of income.
Sheshanna said he started working in 1996 for a salary of Rs. 50. After working for several years, his job was made permanent. Having studied only up to Class 3, he said he once struggled with alcohol addiction. However, in 2005, he was inspired by Bantwal SI Belliappa and decided to give up drinking.
He said he owns cattle and earns around Rs. 40,000 a month. He also recalled that he first purchased an Alto, later bought a Scorpio and now owns a Fortuner.

“The nature of the work is not important; self-respect is what matters. I own a car, but I continue to perform my duties with dedication, and that gives me immense happiness,” he said.
