BENGALURU: Congress party MLA Ravikumar on Friday alleged a Union Minister from Karnataka along with a State level leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have funded a Delhi based Company and a Kolkata based private company to conduct “sting operations” against as many as 10 Ministers of D.K. Shivakumar cabinet to bring disrepute to the State Government and also to destabilise it. The MLA said he will expose the “sting operation” intended in Karnataka against the State Government right in front of media persons soon.

The ruling party MLA, however, declined to reveal the names of the behind funding “sting operations” and stated to expose the funding made, travel agency fixed to ferry persons conducting sting operations, accommodation at a 5-star hotel, videos and photos among relevant details at an appropriate time.

At a press conference in Mandya, Ravikumar, representing Mandya seat, ruled out “no honey trappings” but declined to comment whether the intended “sting operations” aimed at job recruitments.

“The sting operation team has been in Bengaluru for two-months and I came to know about it only 10-days ago,” said the MLA and also pulled out a pen drive from his pocket claiming that “all documentary evidences are stored there.” The teams from Delhi and Kolkata are involved in “fabrication” of documents to put the State Government in a spot of bother and Ravi Kumar demanded a proper investigation into the alleged funding of sting operation.

Accusing the opposition parties particularly BJP and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) of diverting the attention from the burning issues such as drought-situation in the State, Ravi Kumar said opposition parties are busy diverting the attention of the people to unnecessary matters.

He advised the opposition parties to win elections through democratic ways than indulging in destabilising a Government through “sting operations.”
