Bengaluru: Karnataka has received 1,10,654 Form-7 applications seeking objections to the proposed inclusion or deletion of names from the electoral roll during SIR, according to the CEO's office on Friday.The state had 4,51,61,393 electors as of October 9, comprising 2,24,03,422 men, 2,27,55,113 women and 2,858 transgender voters, Chief Electoral Officer V Anbukkumar said.

A total of 43,82,315 notices were generated during the revision process, of which 43,73,745 had been delivered, achieving a delivery rate of 99.80 per cent. Of the delivered notices, 40,88,099 hearings, or 93.47 per cent, had been completed, while 2,85,646 remained pending, the CEO's office said.
"The last date for the notice phase/disposal of claims and objections will be October 22 and the final electoral roll will be published on October 27,the last hearing is scheduled for October 12, while the deadline for disposing of claims and objections and completing the notice phase is October 22.
Between June 16 and October 8, the state received 23,02,215 applications across four categories: 9,52,497 Form-6 applications, 4,712 Form-6A applications, 1,10,654 Form-7 applications and 12,34,352 Form-8 applications.
Form-6 is used to apply for inclusion of a name in the electoral roll, including by eligible first-time voters.
Form-6A is meant for Indian citizens living abroad who seek enrolment in the electoral roll.
Form-7 is used to raise objections to proposed inclusion or seek deletion of a name from the existing electoral roll.
Form-8 is used to request corrections in electoral-roll entries, changes of address and replacement of an Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC), among other permitted services.
The CEO's office said constituency-wise details of claims and objections received through Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B had been published on the Election Commission's website for public information.
It also said directions had been issued to District Election Officers, Additional District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers regarding action against applicants found to have filed false claims and objections through Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8.
The release reminded that a letter was sent to the District Election Officers on October 1 to initiate action on misuse of Form-6, Form-6A, Form-7 and Form-8.
In his letter to the election officers on October 1, Anbukkumar said, "It has come to the notice of this office that there are instances of filing of bulk applications in Form-7 before the EROs. It is also alleged that such forms are not genuine."
"In this regard, it is directed that the concerned EROs shall take action as per law against the applicant who has made a knowingly false statement or declaration in writing in the application/form (Form 6, 6A, 7 and 8) as per the provisions of section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950. Such action shall be preceded by an inquiry under Rule 20 of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960," the letter shared with the media read.
The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 27, as per the Election Commission of India's schedule for SIR-2026.
