Coaching Centres Of Competitive Exams To Be Under Scanner In Karnataka

BENGALURU: Comprehensive guidelines have been framed by the State Government for ensuing examinations to fill-up as many as 36, 773 posts to be filled up by Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) and Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) within 6 months and an estimated 35 lakh job seekers are expected to appear the examinations. In all the State Government will be filling-up 70,000 posts in coming days.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Friday asked officials concerned to adopt best practices from the Union Public Service Commission and strict measures to ensure complete transparency in the recruitment process. The Chief Minister wanted officials to make “Karnataka a model for the nation.”
Shivakumar directed officials concerned to video-record every stage of the examination process, strict vigilance must be maintained to prevent educational institutions or managements from engaging in malpractices, no officials or staff members be allowed to carry mobile phones during the examination process and Police chiefs have been instructed to keep a close watch on all coaching centres.
However, in a word of caution to officials concerned, Shivakumar said to initiate stern action against officers if malpractices occur.
