BENGALURU: Personnel of Special Protection Task Force (STPF) seized tiger tooth including 4 canine and a nail on Tuesday besides arrested 3 persons alleged to have involved in the smuggling tiger parts near Haradanahalli Lake area on the periphery of Bandipur Tiger Reserve of Gundlupet taluk in Chamarajanagar. An auto rickshaw alleged to have been used in the smuggling has been seized by the personnel.

Acting on a tip-off, a release stated STPF personnel arrested Mahadev, a resident of Hosapodu, Ramesh, a resident of Mavathur village and Mani, a resident of Vadeyarapalya. The accused have reportedly confessed to storage of tiger parts to sell it off to customers. The accused are booked under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and all of them have been remanded to judicial custody. The seized tiger parts have been taken into custody by Bandipur Tiger Reserve officials.
