Cabinet To Decide On Hike In Milk Price, Says CM
Milk producers are unhappy over milk price fixed in Karnataka: Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar
BENGALURU: A decision on milk price hike will be decided at the cabinet meeting, said Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar in Bengaluru on Saturday while stating that Milk Federations have demanded a hike of Rs 12 a litre to meet the financial losses the Federation are reeling under.
In a chat with reporters, he said a decision on milk price hike will be taken keeping in mind the milk prices in neighbouring States of Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. A report from these States will be sought on milk prices existing in these States before a final decision is taken.
Shivakumar said milk producers are unhappy over milk price fixed in Karnataka and as many as 50,000 milk producers have demanded a hike in milk price and asserted his Government is committed to protect the interests of milk producers as well as Milk Federations.
