Krishna Rao road of Basavanagudi in Bengaluru city.

On receipt of a notice from BBMP officials, Rajendra Kumar paid Rs 1 lakh penalty imposed on him through a cheque. Earlier, an under construction building on M.N. Krishna Rao road under Basavanagudi of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) South zone was fined Rs 1 lakh after it was found that the scaffolding on step-up on public space thereby obstructed the free movement of people.

BBMP Chief Commissioner said a notice has been served on the building owner Rajendra Kumar over scaffolding step-up on public space and covering the scaffolding with green net to facilitate construction of his structure.

Zonal Chief Engineer Basavaraj Kabade inspected the building works and came across scaffolding on public space obstructing movement of people. It was found during the inspection that the under construction building had not obtained permission from BBMP over setting-up of scaffolding and had encroached upon public space.

After inspection, a notice was served on Rajendra Kumar asking him to pay Rs 1 lakh as penalty and issued a warning not to cause obstruction to free movement of pedestrians.
